What is a highlight film?

This is the longer film where our team gets to expertly and creatively craft a film that brings forth all the emotion of your film. You will be amazed at just how much information you can fit into creative film which range from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. We focus on the most beautiful, cinematic, and unique moments of your film and weave them all together to tell the story. We strive to ensure the music, voice-overs, and scenes perfectly reflect your intention for your film.

Who are the interviewers?

Our warm and humble team of interviewers know just how to ask the right questions. You will meet the interviewing team prior to the filming, which will put your mind at ease and also give you the opportunity to vet all questions prior to the day. Sometimes someone's life journey can be sprinkled with uncomfortable, complicated and even upsetting events. Often hardships can be the bridge to a better place. If this is a part of your story that you decide is essential to getting your film right, you can rely on us to be sensitive, caring and confidential. We will allow you the time and space as required during the filming process.

Whilst all medium written, spoken and other remain classic ways to document stories - video is a dynamic medium which allows you to see, feel and hear the intimate story of your loved one's.

Generally our clients are happy to choose one of the standard packages; perhaps adding some extra options…. however you are more than welcome to request specialised and tailored packages.

Is payment required prior to filming?

In order to secure your booking, we require a non-refundable deposit of 50%. Which is calculated on the final balance. This is payable at least one month prior to the commence of filming.

How can the costs be shared?

We have found in the past that family crowd funding has been highly successful. This is a brilliant way to have the whole family invested in the project.

Nerves can get the better of all of us. We are experienced in being in front and behind the camera. We know how hard it can be to face the lens of a camera therefore we know just what to do. Leave it to our team to ensure your loved ones will be perfectly okay.

When do you start and finish filming?

Starting and finishing times are available on the datasheet that we will send you relating to the package you select. The structure of your day and distance between locations and other logistical requirements will be taken into consideration. We will provide you with an exact schedule for your approval prior to the commencement date.

Filming locations?

Generally interviews are conducted in the family home but this can be adapted depending on your cirmcumstances and to wherever is convenient. This includes nursing homes, hospitals, aged care homes once we have obtained approval from the facility.

We have access to online music portals which provide us with some high quality and unique tracks. This also allows the films to be shared online and through social media platforms without copyright issues.
If you prefer another choice of music, rest assured you will have the opportunity to change the music before the final video. Life Portrait films is a responsible company that will not infringe copyright laws for any online published work.

Do I get to preview a rough cut before the final video?

Whilst there may be a limit to the amount of amendments that you can make, we certainly encourage you to work with us to get your story right. We will provide you with a rough cut edit for your approval prior the the completion of the project.

All good things take time. We generally schedule delivery by the end of 30 days however we will discuss this with you every step of the way including schedule extensions if required.
